It’s a quiet night in Sumeru, the wind was a gentle breeze and the stars were lit in all their brilliance, the crickets and the animals of the jungle added to the calm and relaxing atmosphere you felt. You felt the wind around change, in excitement it felt? You were then shook from your thoughts when you heard a light, and airy voice, some distance above you call out for you, “Windblume!”

You looked up and saw Venti in this classic bard look but this time with his angel-like wings from under his cape, he quickly dived down onto the treetop you were sitting on top of and make a graceful landing, brushing himself off and slightly, pulling his wings in as to be less imposing, he walks up to you, happy as can be, “I found you!” He says happily while wrapping his arms over you and hold oh so tight, his wings even somewhat folded over the two of you.

“There you are, My Love.” He continued still buried into your shoulder, you reciprocate the hug of course but you do ask him if everything‘s OK and if anything‘s wrong.

“Oh, Nothing’s wrong, I just wanted to come and see you! He says releasing the hug with a smile on his face.

“I would’ve waited patiently for you to come back, but my heart got the better of me today, so I thought I’d fly over the Sumeru to see you.” He falls back into hug relishing your warmth, and your heartbeat.

“I missed you”

You decided it’d be fun having a little banter with him and so you say to him that you’d only left for Sameru two days and that you’d be back in the morning.

“But does that matter?”

“Be it two minutes, or two days, any distance is enough to grow fonder for you.”

“So I came to see you, Is…that okay?”

You of course, loved how much Venti cared about you and how much he dedicates to you, so you reply that you missed him too.

In response, he just holds you closer, with his wings further encompassing the two of you, and replying with, “Oh Windblume…” with a sweet tone stronger than honey.

A moment passes where both of you embrace and comfortable and quiet silence, but a thought comes across your mind and you voice it. How did you find me you ask?

“How I found you?” He says slightly pulling away from the embrace, “it was easy, if you’re in a place that the wind reaches I can find you pretty easily.” And as he finishes he goes back to hugging.

“As long as you’re someplace where the wind can brush against you, I can find you.”

He pulls back again to look at you, “That’s why I always hated it when you explore places like the chasm or anywhere underground, but for a place like Sumeru filled with tall trees and elevated areas, it was quite literally a breeze for me to find you.”

“After all, what sort of god would I be if I couldn’t rush to the side of the one I love the most.” He finished with a smile before falling back into you again.

You decide to give him a kiss on the lips to show him how much that means to you. “I missed you” he says slightly out of breath while resting his head on your shoulder.

While embracing him, you notice his wings were quite dirty and a bit wet as well so you ask him why and how.

He pulls away from the hug and glances at his wings, “My wings?” After a moment of thinking he gets his answer.

“I flew through a rain showers on my way here, and it seems that a lot of the forest clung to them. For future reference, try not to fly past those big mushrooms at high speed, you get these big fuzzy spores over anything soft.”

He tired to move his wings in order to shake the spores off but to no avail.”

“They don’t even come off when I flap my wings.” He says somewhat dejected.

“I probably would have been okay if I’d flown a little higher above the canopy.” He paused, thinking for a moment before continuing, “But… I wanted to be able to see you right away.” He finishes with a rare shy smile.

“Well, it’s not that many spores, I guess they’ll fall off when my wings finishing drying.”

As he finished, an idea came to help him clean the spores off his wings and dry them off a bit, so you quickly shared it with him.

“You’ll help me?”
