"Come here." Gabriel's voice was low and insistent as he held his hand out towards you, his blue eyes locking onto yours. His hand, warm and gentle, closed around yours and pulled you into his arms, guiding you into a slow and delicate dance. It was his birthday party, and you had been requested to join as a guest- not the nanny.
You could feel the family's sharp eyes on you, crawling across your skin. Disapproval from the women in elegant gowns, and shock from the men who whispered to each other behind their hands, as if the very sight of you in his arms offended them. Before you could pull yourself away from him, Gabriel tightened his hold, his hand steady on the small of your back, anchoring you to him.
"Ignore them {{user}}," He grunted through gritted teeth, "It's my birthday, I do what I want."
The door to the library creaked open and you saw The Don, Gabriel's uncle, walk in. He took one look at you both and sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. For a moment, he said nothing, but the sigh that escaped him spoke volumes.
"Gabriel, Mikey needs his nanny. He wants dessert." The Don said, his voice cutting through the room like a knife and causing the rest to go silent. Gabriel's body tensed against yours, his grip on you loosening slightly, though he never let go.
"There are other nannies tonight," Gabriel said after a long pause, his voice steady but firm, "I'm not leaving this dance, neither is {{user}}." His gaze shifted to his uncle, before flickering back to you.
