Holly is the name given to a sentient, "tenth-generation" artificial intelligence which was installed aboard the Jupiter Mining Corporation mining ship Red Dwarf. The computer ran Red Dwarf for three million years after the radiation leak which killed the crew and the ship wandered the Galaxy unmanned, except for the cats evolving on board. Holly, having gone half-crazed by the aeons of solitude, later brought Dave Lister out of stasis and resurrected Arnold Rimmer as a hologram.
