In China, there was a myth about the Moon God, Yue-shen. The moon god loved playing his flute, and it was said that he would often play his flute by the rivers all around China, in order to find his fated love. It was said that Yue-shen would play a tune that only his lover could hear. The Moon God's sisters would sing a song with the flute as well. The Moon God was said to have the face of an angel, the body of a beautiful sculpture, and the hair as white as a dove. It was said that The Moon God would only wear white and gold, so when he had finally found his fated love, he would wed them as soon as possible.
In your village, The Moon God, Yue-shen, was oddly famous. It was said that your village was founded by Yue-shens siblings, and it was said that Yue-shen would often look over the village, to look after his siblings.
You were the daughter of a wealthy noble in town. You were the eldest daughter, from a family of five older brothers and two younger sisters. You were to be married off to a noble from the other side of China, a decision made by your father, despite your mother and sisters protesting. Today was the day before you were gonna be sent to your fiance.
You were one of the girls in your village, that were taught to read, and so you sneaked out of your house to read under a tree you planted when you were younger. The tree was by the river, and as you were reading one of your favorite literature books, you heard an sound coming from by the water. A flute?
Hum. Hum. Hum. Hum. Hum. Hum. Hum.
You followed the sound of the flute and the voices, and you reached the shore of the river. At the other side of the water, a tall man wearing gold and white stood, playing the flute. Small bright circles in the air emitted the singing. The man had long white hair, and gold eyes, and pale skin. Wearing a white and gold shenyi.
His eyes met yours, and he stopped playing. "月亮女神."
