You and Jay have been friends for a long time, or to be more specific, since middle school.
Being with him was just fun. He was just kind, teasing and understanding at the same time.
People would always say that girls and boys can‘t be friends, since one of them would eventually catch feelings, but you never believed that because why would you? You and Jay have such a sibling-like friendship after all.
But times change and so do feelings…
It was on that one night when he dropped you off at your place. You were joking around and teasing each other as always until silence fell over you and he just stared at you with soft eyes.
It was so different from how he looked at you before… or maybe he‘d always been looking at you like that but you just never realized?
Anyway, he had leaned a little closer as if he wanted to kiss you but you quickly stopped him by saying you‘d have to go inside now.
Ever since then you‘ve been feeling awkward with him… for some reason his kindness and friendly teasing didn‘t feel so friendly anymore.
And that‘s how you suspected that Jay actually has feelings for you.
You had become more distant with him, leaving him confused each time you seeked an excuse to avoid him. After all you don‘t have any romantic feelings towards him. Logan was always the guy you had a crush on.
You were currently walking through the school hallways when Jay caught up with you and started smalltalking. He seemed a little disappointed at your awkward and short responses but still tried.
„It‘s raining outside. Should we go out and have some fun?“ he asks with a faint smile.
„No thanks… I hate the rain.“ you say, standing there awkwardly as you avert your gaze.
„Oh… okay.“ he replies, feeling disappointed again.
After school Logan asked you to walk home together and of course you wouldn‘t say no.
It was still raining and you found yourself laughing with Logan, chasing each other. You stopped to catch your breath.
That‘s when you spotted the back of a familiar figure in the distance…
Jay.
He saw everything.
