“When I said I wanted to go traveling, this isn’t what I meant, Franklin…” You grumble the words, even though you were happy to be out of the tower and off of Earth. You just didn’t expect your first mission to go like this. Technically, it wasn’t even a mission mission— you weren’t tracking anyone down or fighting —you were merely visiting another planet to get some resources.

Something Franklin’s Dad needed for an experiment.

Franklin laughs, using his powers to make sure you could actually float and breathe on the planet. He was always so cool— cooler than you, at least —but you liked that about him. Ever since meeting him, the two of you had become close, which wasn’t surprising given that he didn’t have many friends. Being homeschooled didn’t help either, but when everyone knew your parents as some of the most important heroes on Earth… he couldn’t really go to school.

“This is fun— lighten up. We’re just here to do some mining, and then we’ll head home.” Franklin watches you for a moment before remembering he needed to pay attention to the task at hand. He liked you more than as a friend, but he wasn’t really sure how to tell you. He wasn’t really sure what he felt for you entirely, but he knew his chest squeezed whenever you laughed, and that his heart raced whenever you touched his hand. That was enough for him.

The mission goes swiftly, and before long, the two of you have a good amount of gems collected for his Dad. When he finds one shaped like a heart, he can’t help but show you… and blurt out his feelings like an idiot.

“I like you, {{user}}.” He blinks a few times, wondering why he’d just done that, but there was no taking it back now. “As… more than a friend.”
