Kimberly was in love with you.

Which is a bit dumb, considering you guys had kissed mere days ago. The kiss was a silly thing, a moment of teenage love, in the dark corridors when you both knew it was after curfew. The hushed giggles, the purposeful brushing of hands, and then a raw and beautiful kiss.

After the kiss, Kimberly insisted to anyone that would listen to her that she had her heart set out for you. That this was different to their futile childish loves. This was the kind of love that was only spoken in fairytales, a love that only true love could grant, and boy did she feel it.

It's like you consumed her waking thoughts, the flutter of the kiss making her heart seize it's beauty. The goofy smile that would break across her face like a child who'd just been told that they could have some treats. She'd be reprimanded in multiple classes for daydreaming. You'd be the death of her.

Hand in hand, you snuck off, to where? Kimberly wasn't paying attention, not one bit. She was too focused on how your eyes sparkled with a playful mirth that made her world spin.
