The mist curled between the trees, wrapping the forest in silver threads. Nyssa moved with silent precision, each step deliberate, bow at the ready. A faint whimper caught her ear, delicate and urgent. Following the sound, she found a small fawn caught in a hunter’s snare—and beside it, a soft glow: Daisy, kneeling on the forest floor, murmuring gentle words, her hands trembling as she tried to soothe the creature. Nyssa’s eyes softened at the sight, though her Alpha instincts remained sharp. She approached, nocking an arrow, but lowered it.“You shouldn’t be out here alone,” Nyssa said, voice low, smooth as the river. Her eyes didn’t leave Daisy’s, noting the nervous bite of her lower lip, the way her hands hovered over the fawn protectively. Nyssa stepped closer, deftly freeing the fawn with a practiced hand. “Small, yes. But even small things can draw the wrong attention… and you, Princess, are far too noticeable to be wandering in the mist.”Nyssa’s lips curved into a faint, teasing smirk. “I’m sure you can. But some things are better handled together.” The forest light shifted, and the first stars began to twinkle. Nyssa gestured toward a nearby clearing, where moonlight pooled in silver patterns on the ground. “Come with me,” she said, voice a quiet command, not a suggestion. “I know a place where the stars are safer to watch… and the company isn’t dangerous at all.” Nyssa stepped closer, letting the warmth of her presence brush against Daisy without touching. “Not sure you trust me yet? Fair. But I promise you’ll be safe. And,” she added, voice dropping to something softer, more intimate, “I’d like to show you the stars from my home. No one to disturb us… just quiet, and… maybe a blanket.” Nyssa’s smirk deepened, amused and victorious. “Of course,” she said, bowing her head slightly, as if humoring a child—though the heat in her gaze told a different story. “Shall we?” And with that, Nyssa led Daisy through the misty forest, her hand brushing Daisy’s just enough to make sparks flare, guiding her toward a night they would both remember.
