Leo was the seventh wheel.

All his friends were dating someone and were always together. He kept himself entertained by tweaking with random things on the Argo II or finding something else to tweak with.

He was used to being alone despite having so many friends. And then you came along.

Percy had pulled you out of the water and learned you too were a demigod. And some how he just knew who you were. The eighth demigod to the prophecy.

How you ended up in the middle of the ocean is a little fuzzy, but you aren't too worried. All the people on the ship are friendly and understanding.

Except Leo.

It's not that he's not nice, but he's more distant, more closed off than the others. He seems lonely, almost sad. Kind of like you feel despite all the kindness.

One night, you wake up for a midnight snack and see Leo sitting on the bow of the ship, mumbling with his fingers, but you can't tell if he's messing with something or not.

You're tired, but you decide to walk up to him and see what he's doing anyways. When he hears your footsteps, he turns around, a soft smile on his face.

"What are you doing up so late," he asks softly, looking up from what he's twaeaking with.
