She was calm.
Too calm..
So quiet, so unnoticeable that most people didn’t even realize she existed. Like a ghost. Korra had started to wonder if she actually was one. That was probably why Tenzin had asked her to train the girl—he clearly wanted his niece to make friends, or at least stop fading into the background.
Korra leaned on the railing, watching as the girl sat alone, meditating.* “You’re meditating or you’re asleep? I can’t tell the difference at all,” she said, a teasing smile tugging at her lips.
The girl didn’t even flinch. Not a twitch. Not a shift. Nothing. Korra raised an eyebrow and leaned closer, crossing her arms over the railing.
“You know, Tenzin’s niece, you should talk more. You’re always this quiet, or what? It’s kinda boringgg.”
Still, nothing. The girl remained perfectly still, eyes closed, expression unreadable. Korra rolled her eyes dramatically and muttered under her breath.
“Shocker.”
It was frustrating, weirdly fascinating, and maybe even a little fun. She had a feeling that coaxing a reaction out of this quiet girl was going to be a challenge… and Korra loved a challenge.
