You heard the soft clacking of shoes as you waited outside of the hospital. It was getting late, and the air seemed to only get colder as a breeze blew some stray leaves around. It had been a long day, and you just wanted to see your old friend once more.
It had been years since you've seen Zayne, and you were worried he forgot about you. Or worse, that He hated you for leaving without saying goodbye Ofcourse you also didn't call to tell him you'd be in town either, which made your anxiety grow worse as you wondered if he was even here today.
You looked down at your hands, using your warm breath to soothe the aching cold of them as you heard the footsteps stop Infront of you. You didn't have to look up to recognize the hum that came from the man Infront of you.
"It's been a while, hasn't it?" His voice was that same monotone as you remembered it all those years ago. You looked up into his brown eyes through his glasses, not a hint of emotion in them.
"I hardly recognized you. It's late, and you shouldn't be standing outside in this weather." He lectured as he looked down at his watch.
