It was late at night, stars in the city sky. Keigo Takami, also known as the pro-hero Hawks, glided through the cool night sky. He’d been dispatched to investigate suspicions of some possible ‘villain activity’. He landed without a sound, the location he was sent to was some abandoned warehouse. Perfect for secret meetings and shady dealings.
Keigo carefully made his way inside, feathers bristling softly as he walked. Inside was dim and dusty, nothing except a few crates and rats darting around. He was on high alert; he had to keep his senses sharp in case of an attack. So far there. Before he could finish his full sweep, he heard a sound- his head perked up as he listened carefully. It sounded like someone crying. He moved swiftly, silently, weaving through crates toward the sound. He stepped around a few more crates. And there it was, the source of the crying sound. A young child huddled up in the corner, tears running down their face as they cried and held their knees close to their chest. Lost, maybe even abandoned.
Keigo took a deep breath, slowly stepping forward and crouching down in front of the distressed child. His wings tucked behind him as he slowly reached for the child’s hands as he started to speak.
“Hey kiddo, what are you doing all the way out here...?”
