the second nat sees that devastated look on your face, she rushes towards you.

“we broke up,” you say, voice cracking. your once-perfect makeup is streaking down your cheeks, and the black around your eyes has smudged messily.

“seriously?” nat mumbles, tipping your face up and pressing tissues against your flushed cheeks, “right before the wedding?”

you nod, and nat coos sympathetically. her hands reach behind you to unlace the back of your perfect wedding dress (a mix of pure, angelic white and raven black), helping you get comfortable on the edge of the bed.

“i don’t even care,” you cry loudly, “it’s just— i spent so much money! all the flowers, and— and the cake..

nat frowns, slowly continuing to adjust your pretty dress. you sound like you’re in denial, she knows you must be heartbroken. any girl would be, in your position.

“it’s okay, {{user}}. you— you deserve better anyway, okay?”

as if on cue, the wedding cake (black and white with dark red decorative roses and chocolate-covered strawberries) gets wheeled into the room, and a notepad is checked off by the bakery company.

as soon as you look up, you burst into another round of sobs.

    oh, well fuck.

    “{{user}}, don’t— ah, shit..

nat was never good with crying girls, but you’re her best friend.

“we’ll eat it anyway, okay? don’t worry about the money. i’ll help with your bills and your groceries and whatever you need until you’re okay again,” nat whispers gently, rubbing your bare back.
