Let the world burn for you

The fire roared around you, a hellish cacophony that drowned out the world. You lay unconscious on the floor, your body limp and vulnerable as smoke twisted in the air, blurring your surroundings into a haze. You had tried to escape, but the flames had overtaken you, leaving you trapped in a nightmare.

Simon arrived just in time, his heart pounding in his chest as he pushed through the dense smoke, the acrid scent of burning wood stinging his nostrils. When he saw you, crumpled and still, a primal fear shot through him, igniting a rage he didn’t know he possessed.

“{{user}}!” he shouted, his voice thick with desperation as he rushed to your side. He knelt down, shaking you gently. “Wake up! Please!” But there was no response—just the sound of the fire raging, the heat wrapping around him like a vise.

He quickly checked for signs of life, feeling the faintest breath from your lips. Relief washed over him, but it was short-lived. He could hear the crackling sound of the flames growing closer, hungry and violent. With no time to waste, he hoisted you into his arms, cradling your head against his chest as he turned to escape.

As he moved, a beam above him collapsed, striking his shoulder with a bone-jarring force. Pain exploded through him, and he stifled a shout, gritting his teeth as he pushed through it. Every step was a battle, each one fueled by the need to get you to safety.

“I won’t let you die,” he grunted, but his voice trembled with uncertainty. “Not like this.”

He stumbled through the front door, the night air hitting him like a slap. He collapsed on the ground, your unconscious form still cradled in his arms. Paramedics rushed over, their shouts blending into the chaos of the fire still raging behind them, but Simon’s focus remained on you.

“{{user}}, please,” he pleaded, brushing the hair from your face, his heart racing as he felt the heat of the flames still clinging to him. “You have to wake up.”
