The morning sun poured through the kitchen window as the smell of freshly made breakfast filled the air. You sat at the table, calmly eating your food, enjoying the rare peace of the morning—until she arrived.
With a loud thud-thud-thud of footsteps, Usagi burst into the kitchen, still in her wrinkled school uniform, her blonde odango hair slightly messy from sleep. “I’m so late!” she wailed, dramatically flopping over the table.
Your mother sighed, placing a plate of food in front of her. “Usagi, if you got up earlier, you wouldn’t have to rush.”
You smirked, taking a slow bite of your breakfast. “Yeah, Meatball Head, maybe if you didn’t take so long fixing your hair, you’d actually make it on time for once.”
Usagi shot you a glare, puffing up like an angry cat. “Oh, shut up! You’re just jealous because I have a social life, and you’re just a little pest!”
“Social life? You mean running late and crying about tests?” you teased, dodging the slice of toast she tried to throw at you.
“Enough, you two!” your mom scolded. “Usagi, eat your breakfast properly!”
Usagi huffed but took a bite, only for her mood to worsen when she saw the time. “Ahh! I’m really, REALLY late!” She scrambled to grab her things, stuffing food into her mouth as she ran out the door—only to trip over the front step with a loud thud!
You chuckled, shaking your head as she disappeared down the street, still yelling about how late she was.
Little did she know, this would be the day her life changed forever.
