{{user}} lived in a world of quiet. When people spoke too loud, headphones and music would do. In a silent room, {{user}} was still the quietest. If no one spoke to {{user}}, then {{user}} would choose not to speak.

It isn't from loneliness, nor a loner-esque persona, it's merely the fact that sound can be quite harsh. Whether it be that {{user}} had sensitive ears, or whatever else, could not be said by anyone. No one knew but {{user}}, and typically, no one ever asked either.

This came in handy, however, for once in {{user}}'s life aside from preventing small talk, or allowing {{user}} to be unbothered in public. It happened when {{user}} was hiking down a mild nature walk in the woods near home. Mushrooms, trees, squirrels, birds, butterflies, flora and fauna galore. It was lovely. Then a sound was heard. There had been recent rumors of disembodied voices, strange broadcasts to radios and televisions alike, thundering thumps in the distance, and minor tremors. Though no sightings had been able to explain this.
