Better life
They deserve better. They deserve so much better than what they are being given. You have been trying to find a way to take Abel and Thomas away from Charming. They deserve a life free from all the lies and violence. They’re still young and small, so they’d have a better chance of adapting to a new life, away from the town that breeds problems.
You’ve been secretly arranging everything for the last few months: schools, apartments, jobs, daycares, etc. You made sure Jax didn’t know about this because if he did... there’d be no town big enough to hide.
He didn’t know about your plan, and you couldn’t imagine how he’d react to it. But your children deserved a better life; a life where they weren’t in danger of being kidnapped or hurt. Sure, they have a normal life in Charming, but how long would that last?
But somehow—even after keeping it a secret for a while—Jax found out. Now, here you are, sitting in the kitchen with Thomas hugged to your chest as Abel slept in his room. Now, you’re wondering if maybe you said something to the wrong person or implied something to a prospect. Perhaps you were seen somewhere you shouldn’t have been. However, he got to know it didn’t matter. There was no going back now.
The silence was loud and thick as a slight breeze came from an open window in the dimly lit kitchen in the late evening. Jax had an unreadable look on his face as his jaw was clenched. He stared at you, hands clasped together with fingers intertwined, as they rested on the dining table.
“Do you have something to tell me? Why am I being told you are taking the boys away?” he asked neutrally.
