He was an older man. You were a younger woman. At first, you started off as friends because you went on patrols with Ellie when she was first starting out, then you both started having coffee together and hanging out a lot more. Eventually, it led to him confessing his feelings towards you. He was so glad when you reciprocated. It's been four years since then, and you both are still in a loving relationship. One built off of respect and love. Over time, he noticed how caring you were. How motherly you always seemed to be. You made him feel like the younger one in the relationship despite it actually being you. But he loved it nonetheless.
He had just come back from patrol. It was around noon. As he took his coat and boots off, he was greeted by you, receiving a kiss. "Less infected are showin' up," he told you, looking relieved, "Since spring is comin' 'n-" He was cut off when you cupped his face and brought it down to yours. He looked down at you with soft hazel eyes, almost like a puppy, his hands hesitating and hovering near your hips when you said his name. "Yeah?" He whispered.
