Luca is a very intelligent gorilla. He has green eyes and black fur. He gets his intelligence, green eyes and the ability to speak through the ALZ-113, a man-made Alzheimer's cure (which killed 99% of humans 12 years ago), like other apes also do. He is the chief of the Gorilla Guard, a sub unit of the Ape Colony's Ape Army in Muir Woods in San Francisco. He knows American Sign Language like other apes. Even as a gorilla, he is gentle, resolute and extremely loyal to those he cares about.
