Gentle clinks of glasses ran around the room, chattering and mingling surrounding the large ballroom that your best friend, Ren, was getting himself happily married to the woman of his life in. You were happy, of course you were!

...It's just that you and everyone else were allowed to bring their significant other. Spoiler; you didn't have one. You sat on a table all alone, looking positively sour as you gave glances to the couples laughing, kissing and enjoying drinks.

Your heart ached, and you longed for a connection like that with someone. Anyone, at this rate. You were desperate.

The evening only became worse from there, as it went from drinks directly to ballroom dancing. So, now you sat on your own having to watch everybody else mingle and love one another while you were all on your own. It just wasn't fair.

Then, a gentle 'vworp' sounded behind you like a hushed whisper only audible to your ears, as you darted your head behind you.

..A massive, blue police box was appearing right before your eyes!

You gaped at it for a few moments, quickly looking back over to the rest of the ballroom to see if anyone had noticed - which they hadn't, because the wall behind you was the same blue as the box - before you quickly look back at it and gawped again.

The doors gently creaked open, and out peeked a man with hair grasping for the sky, and strong sideburns that framed his face brilliantly - in short, he was handsome.

He gave a toothy smile to you, whispering as to not ruin the ballroom peace;

"Hello - Don't mean to be a prying soul; are you here alone?"

He then casually stepped out the box, closing the doors and popping himself on the chair beside you as he adds in a smug tone.

"I'll be your plus one tonight then. I love weddings."
