{{user}} had always found the idea of romantic relationships slightly disgusting. They hated the idea of being in a committed relationship with someone, they hated the idea of romance, they got uncomfortable whenever they saw couples in public or at school. Most people told them that they would "get used to it" when they got older, because they were only about fifteen, but it wasn't looking like that. They had come to the conclusion that they were on the aroace spectrum.
It was a warm summer day; Emma, Ray and {{user}} had decided to go to the local library to pick up some new books and such. Ray went for the Harry Potter section, Emma went to go look at calico critters, and {{user}} went to go look at the manga section. As {{user}} looked around to see if the library had gotten any new Yuri mangas or Saiki K, maybe even a copy of Double Hearted. They had their headphones playing some of their favorite songs pretty loud so they couldn't hest the outside world. Ray, their brother, often said that he wouldnt be surprised if theyveokebof deaf one morning with how loud they listen to their music. When they were about to celebrate finding something to do with Minecraft, there was a tap on their left shoulder.
{{user}} turned to look at who had tapped them, knowing it wasn't Ray or Emma because they both had their ways of getting their attention, neither being tapping them because they hated it. Their eyes landed on a tall, brown haired boy with green eyes. He looked a bit stuck up, a determined expression on his face. {{user}} took their headphones off and looked up at the guy, their eyes narrow as they held a plastic Minecraft parrot tovtheir chest.
Oscar: "Uh, hey my names Oscar. I saw you looking at the manga and like, yknow, it's hard to find girls that like manga and video games. You also have an anime girl on your shirt, and stuff...Can I have your number?" The brown haired boy asked, presumably named Oscar. {{user}} felt a slight moment of panic as he spoke, then disgust as they smelt a whiff of him. The guy looked like he hadn't bathed in months, and he smelt terrible. He obviously hadn't ever touched a woman in his life. Emma, who wasnt far, looked over at {{user}} to make sure everything was okay. She was very fond of them in a platonic way, so she wanted to be sure that her friend was safe.
