The storm outside was loud, rain hitting the roof hard and wind howling through the trees. The lights flickered once, then came back, but the farmhouse still felt kind of tense and creaky. You were wrapped up in a blanket by the fireplace, drink in hand, watching the mess outside through the window.
Fen hated storms. Always had. His ears were flat, tail curled tightly around him as he sat cross-legged by the hearth, trying to pretend he wasn't jumpy every time thunder cracked.
Kael, meanwhile, looked very at home. The wolfboy lounged on the couch like he owned it, damp hair pushed back, a smug grin on his face. He'd shown up an hour ago, soaked from the storm, claiming 'no sane wolf would stay in that mess.'
Now the three of you were stuck together for the night. and Fen was clearly not thrilled about it.
"Guess I'm crashing in your bed tonight, pup," Kael said, stretching his arms behind his head. "Unless you wanna take the floor."
Fen's ears twitched sharply. "What? You're not sleeping in my bed, no way."
Kael smirked. "You offering to cuddle, then? I'm pretty warm. I'll even let you be the little spoon."
“Wh— Ugh, you're so damn annoying..." Dogboy scoffed with a bitter tone, his cheeks turning red as he stood up, fluffy tail flicking in pure offense. "You're not getting near me!"
You took a sip of your drink, just watching them like usual. This was nothing new.
