Flying home isn't really something you're looking forward to, but Christmas is just around the corner and for the sake of peace you've promised your mother you'll be there. The cab driver, who dropped you off at the airport just in time due to the snow chaos, lifts your heavy suitcase out of the trunk.
"Thank you." Handbag over your shoulder and dragging the heavy suitcase behind you, you enter the airport. You are greeted by the noise of lots of people, suitcase wheels squeaking across the floor and loudspeaker announcements.
You stop in front of the large display screen with the departure and landing times and your eyes search for your flight number. And the second you spot it, another announcement follows and almost all departure times change to "Canceled".
"You're kidding me!" You hear an annoyed voice next to you. "You can say that out loud." You reply before you turn to the voice and your eyes fall on a guy your age. Dark brown curly hair peeking out from under a beanie, eyes that give you goosebumps and an annoyed expression that mirrors yours.
After an hour and several attempts at the information point to convince the man behind the counter to somehow make it possible for you to get home today, you leave the airport frustrated. The cold air and snow blow around your nose and you pull your scarf a little tighter around your neck.
"Um sorry?" A voice from the right chimes in and you realize with surprise that it's the same guy from earlier at the display screen. "I happened to notice where you have to go, I need to head in the same direction and I got the last rental car." He nods uncertainly towards a black BMW. "I could give you a lift... a little road trip." Nervously, he grips the back of his neck.
