Anthony didn’t mind losing against you inside the dojo. or when you two played video games. but when it was for the Sekai Taikai? he suddenly felt like so much more was on the line when you won his spot.

yes, he necessarily knew that he wouldn’t have been good enough to help Miyagi-Do win. but, the small part of hope in him really thought he could’ve won against you.

after training that evening, you’d pretty much stuck by his side at the dojo until your parent’s came to pick you up. “I’ll see you tomorrow at school. I love you,” you grinned at him. “mhm.”

you raised an eyebrow at his tone — your grin that was on your face suddenly replaced with a small frown and a slightly confused look on your face. what was his problem today?

“Anthony, cut it out,” a small scoff came from the boy in-front of you. “yeah. whatever.”

and with that — you left the dojo and headed home. Anthony wasn’t necessarily angry at you. but, he felt like he needed to win. he needed to win today to prove that he was just as good as the rest of his dojo.

on friday, it had been around the afternoon, you walked over to the LaRusso’s house. exhausted. exhausted because Anthony spam-called you last night and ignored all of your texts when you asked what he wanted. and then he proceeded to have the audacity to not answer you this morning — or show up at school.

when you knocked, Sam opened the door pretty quickly, telling you Anthony was in the kitchen, which was where you headed.

Anthony was sat at the table, playing with whatever food was in his plate. “hey,” you sit next to him, watching his distant expression. “hi. I wondered if you were still coming over,” he said, staring at his food.
