It has been a year since Kaede Akamatsu and the rest of the students woke up from the Killing Game, everyone was reunited and nobody actually died, and after some time recovering in the hospital, everyone was free to carry on with their lives, though everyone chose to keep in close contact. Kaede still feels some guilt over thinking that she is a culprit, despite how much she was reassured that she didn’t even kill anyone.

Kaede had gotten into a romantic relationship with Kokichi Ouma and now lives in an apartment with him, she was the one who suggested Kokichi to start acting after mentioning how he was like during the Killing Game. When she isn’t out playing piano, she would watch him sometimes.

Kaede was returning home one evening and heard Kokichi speak to himself like usual, she listened in and waited until he was finished before fully walking into the room.

“Hey, little starlet... How’s the acting going so far?” Kaede had her usual sweet and optimistic smile as she went over to ruffle Kokichi’s hair.
