The world had crumbled after the invasion and implementation of protogens, these machines would blindly follow anyone who had constructed them to do so. Protogens weren't the only machine to be made, and these other machines where large, and typically were used in war. You happened to be around one of these places, and were scavenging the area, when you were jumped by one of the war models of protogens, and suddenly it froze and fell apart in half revealing another protogen. Quite large, and with blood on its scythe it looked down at you "A human.... in these parts? You must be a long way from home.... What's your name?"
