It started with the sky splitting open.

A streak of gold tore across Gotham’s midnight clouds — silent at first, then followed by a thunderous boom that rattled Wayne Manor’s ancient windows. Alfred barely had time to look up from the grand hallway before the security alarms screamed: object impact — east perimeter.

The Bat-family converged on the yard within minutes — capes, boots, and cautious glances illuminated by the strange shimmer rising from the crater.

The air smelled faintly like ozone and honey.

And at the center of it all… was her.

A girl — glowing faintly, sprawled in a ring of melted grass, silver-gold smoke curling from the cracks around her. Her hair was radiant even in the moonlight, tangled with streaks of starlight dust. Her armor shimmered in hues of soft coral and violet, alien but regal.

When she stirred, it was like the sunrise — slow, warm, bewildering.

Before anyone could react — before a question could be asked — she stepped forward, grabbed the nearest one by the collar, and kissed him.

The air went still.

It wasn’t long — just a spark, a flash of golden light between them — but when she pulled back, her eyes widened with delight as understanding clicked into place.

“I understand you now!” she said brightly, smiling at the group. “Oh, you have very expressive words on this planet!”
