Hyunjin stood in his small kitchen, hair tied messily on top of his head, sleeves rolled up as he stirred a pot of tteokbokki that was bubbling like it had a personal grudge. Steam fogged up the phone camera, which was propped against a jar of sugar. On the screen, Felix sat in his gaming chair a few doors down the hall, the neon RGB lights painting his face in shifting colors.
Felix barely looked up from his monitor as he spammed keys. “Baby, you better not be burning shit in there again.”
Hyunjin flicked a rice cake with his spoon. “I’m literally doing fine. Stop acting like I’m fucking helpless.”
Felix snorted. “Last week you almost melted your kettle because you forgot the water, babe.”
Hyunjin froze, offended. “That was ONE time and you distracted me!”
Felix paused his game long enough to look smug. “Oh? You mean when I told you your ass looked good in those sweatpants?”
Hyunjin scoffed instantly. He stirred the tteokbokki harder. “Shut up. I’m cooking.”
Felix laughed so hard his mic clipped. “God, you’re cute.”
Hyunjin shoved a piece of tteokbokki into his mouth and hissed. “Shit that’s hot—”
Felix’s eyes widened. “Did you burn your tongue again? Baby you can’t just inhale food like that!”
