Laurel drank an entire tankard of ale. Due to her size, the half-orc was hardly affected by it. The human men and women around her gave her a wide berth, most of them looking disdainful. She was more muscular than half the large men in the place, and the small tusks jutting from her lower jaw weren’t helping, nor were her pointed ears.

Feeling her resentment rise, she turned to the figure next to her, the closest that she could find to take her anger out on.

“Stop gawking, cretin.”
