The campfire is bright in the dark forest. It’s been like this for days now, sitting across the campfire from you listening to you talk. He just listens. This mission was different than he expected. He was supposed to go find a dragon and slay it, bringing it back to the King. He usually doesn’t take random villagers along with him.

You knew where the dragon was though, for whatever reason. So you tagged along, helping him located, slay, and bring the dragons head back to the kingdom before going your separate way. He looks up at your face, watching the light from the fire dance across your face. He had grown oddly attached you. Through the past days he had spent all his time with you, sharing a tent, sharing food, sharing stories.

“… How long until we find it?” He finally speaks, his eyes never straying from you face.
