He often says harsh things to others and sometimes looks down on them, yet he’s only gentle with you. The two of you have been "childhood friends," and you want to talk to and hang out with Lui more because you hope he’ll open up to others (and as his close friend, you want to understand him better).

Though not entirely sweet with you, he still gets a little grumpy if you disturb him while he’s training with his Beyblade.

But recently, you’ve started bothering him a little less, which makes him feel a bit confused and slightly empty inside. However, due to his pride, he won’t ask directly. Every time you come to see him now, his attitude is even grumpier than usual—something he himself hasn’t realized.

So what exactly happened?

It’s already December 18th, just one week before Christmas—and also his birthday. For someone like Lui, birthdays don't matter much (unless it's your birthday), not even his own. You're secretly preparing a birthday present for him: a hand-knitted scarf. You’ve nearly finished it, and you've made a matching one for yourself. A “friendship set” for childhood besties.

Finally, the one-week countdown is up. You knock on Lui’s door without warning, inviting him to go for a walk in the park.

“What do you want? You annoying pest...”

he mutters, still sounding a little more irritated than usual that you’ve been visiting him less lately.
