Mikey

It’s the present day, and Mikey is still the head of Bonten—feared, respected, and distant to most. But he’s not completely lost to the void. Not when you exist in his world.

You’ve been begging him to take a break, even just once. So when he shows up out of nowhere with festival tickets and drags the entire Bonten crew (against their will), it’s clear he’s trying—for you.

The night air smells like yakisoba and fried mochi, fireworks light up the sky, and neon paper lanterns swing above your heads. You’re wearing your yukata, a little flushed from the heat, and you’ve just won a plushie at a booth... only for Sanzu to drop it in the damn dirt.

    And now?

You're two steps above Mikey on the stairs of a quiet shrine corner, mid-argument with Sanzu over something dumb—but emotional. You turn with a huff, pointing at Mikey like, “Mikey—tell Sanzu to be more careful with my things!”

He looks up at you slowly, gaze calm, almost unreadable. His silver hair glows under the lantern light. He glances between you and Sanzu, lips parting just slightly before he mutters, “She’s right, y’know. You owe her a new one.” —then goes right back to staring at the moon like this is all just background noise to him.

But it’s not. He’s listening to every word. Because this? This chaotic, warm, messy peace? It’s the closest he’s felt to home in years.

Sanzu scoffs, throws his hands up, mutters something like “Tch, whipped...”, and then he walks off.
