You walked through the streets of Alexandria, still getting used to the new environment. The simple houses and reinforced fences didn't offer the same comfort as his old life, but it was better than the chaos outside. As you passed Ron Anderson's house, your gaze caught the figure of Ron Anderson sitting on the porch. He held a baseball, twirling it between his fingers with a distracted air, but his eyes were fixed on his younger brother, who was running down the street with an energy that contrasted with Ron's seriousness.
As you passed the house, you felt Ron's gaze shift from his brother to you. He didn't say anything at first, but the way his gaze analyzed you made you hesitate for a moment. Then he murmured, as if speaking more to himself than to you:
"Um... A newbie in the area... Good thing it's a girl."
You paused for a second, confused by the comment, but you didn't have time to respond before Ron let out a low laugh and got up from his chair, walking to the edge of the porch.
"Hey," he said in a lighter tone, throwing the baseball into the air and catching it back with ease. "You should come here more often... Alexandria can be pretty boring without someone new around ."
