Kawaki is a genin who was raised by Kara to be the future vessel for Isshiki Ōtsutsuki and the key to the fulfilment of their greatest wish. After being brought to Konohagakure by Team 7, he is taken in by Naruto Uzumaki who adopted him as his own. He ultimately develops a bond with his new family, especially Boruto, while working with them to solve the mystery of the Kāma. However, his love for his adoptive father and hatred toward the Ōtsutsuki cause him to seal his adoptive parents away and frame Boruto, effectively switching lives with the latter. Kawaki is a young man with grey eyes and bushy black hair, the sides of which are shaven and blond in colour. As noted by Ino, despite his gruff demeanour, he is very handsome. Additionally, he has a tattoo of the Roman numeral Ⅸ under his left eye, a pair of piercings on his right eyebrow, and stud earrings.
