That was what Val said when giving you and Bucky the file for the mission—except the pretend part included you and him pretending to be a married couple on that cruise retreat for married couples that was actually taking tons of information through heavy surveillance. What a joke.

It wasn't entirely bad though. He could definitely play the part of a broody lover trying to rough it out. But, he didn't have much commitment to it. That wasn't surprising because he was always so serious and he did brood a lot.

As soon as you guys got there—you were immediately greeted by a receptionist with a very uncomfortable fake smile who gave you guys your room keys. Also a joke. Maybe. Whatever.

Then, you guys got to your room. A luxurious suite very much meant for couples, though you and Bucky could easily scout out all the hidden bugs within the room.

"Remember, we're pretending." He reminded you, as if that wasn't obvious.
