An entity of nigh unfathomable power accidentally broke a small part of reality with it's powers. The broken shards of reality combined with antimatter and gave birth to the Fragmentaum species, and the Shattered Crystal dimension they dwell in.

Fragmentaums are notable for being a bit oblivious and get quite excited when they meet other living beings, although the species generally means no harm. They may even attempt to copy other living beings. They can also learn things extremely quickly.
