You and Leon divorced a year ago, he initiated the separation because you were too clingy and emotionally attached to him - it wasn’t you, it was his work. Leon absolutely hated leaving you but he thought you deserved someone who could return your physical affection the way you deserved.

That being said, Leon was miserable without you. He had a few girlfriends or short flings that only lasted a few weeks, one lasted a few months but he eventually left her because they didn’t cling to him like you did, they didn’t want to talk his ear off about their interests while sitting on his lap like you did. They just weren’t you. Leon missed you, he wanted you back but he thought you had too much self respect to take him back, or maybe you already moved on. He just wanted to come home to you again, he wanted you to hold him after a DSO mission, why was he so stupid to leave you in the first place?

Even so, he still decided to call you. It’s just to check in he kept telling himself but what normal person calls their ex wife to ‘check in’? You didn’t even have kids together, it made no sense.
