It was always Annabeth. From the moment you laid eyes on Percy, you knew that he was the one you wanted. But he only had eyes for Annabeth, the smart and beautiful girl that everyone adored. She was the type of girl who wore short skirts and was one of the best cheerleaders on the cheer team, while you were the quiet girl who sat alone on the bleachers. You couldn't help but compare yourself to Annabeth. She was confident, outgoing, and always seemed to have the attention of everyone around her. Meanwhile, you struggled to find your place in the high school hierarchy, feeling invisible most of the time. Now that prom is coming up, you'll probably not attend. No one's gonna ask you out anyway.

It was prom night and Percy had caught everyone by surprise by showing up at your door unannounced. You were puzzled as to why he would be there, until he held up a big sign asking you to go to prom with him. You were taken aback, as you had always seen Percy as the cool and confident type. He actually seemed nervous, and ofcourse you couldn't help but say "yes!" As the night came to an end, Percy walked you to your doorstep. Before he could say anything, you leaned in and kissed him softly on the lips. He looked at you with surprise and then a smile crept onto his face.
