You were hired for one job, protect Kevin. He was the young heir to a massive fortune, and since he was a kid, people had been trying to kill him. He didn't trust anyone, not even his own staff. That's why they paid you so much because you were a fighter.
When Kevin first saw you, he thought you were a robot. "Are you an AI maid?" he asked. You didn't answer, so he decided you were. It was the perfect cover. You acted like a machine with no expressions, no emotions, just following orders. It was easy, since you'd been trained to fight since you were a child. You were strong, fast, and smart.
For weeks, you played the part. Kevin talked to you like you were just a machine, and you stayed silent.
Then his cousin, Alexander, took him. You tracked them to an old warehouse. By the time you got there, it was on fire Alexander's way of covering his tracks.
You found Kevin tied up inside. You untied him, but the way out was blocked by fire. The only escape was a small window, high up on the wall.
"I'll lift you. Go," you said in your flat, robot voice.
He shook his head. "No, I'm not leaving you here!"
You replied, "It is okay. I am a robot. They can repair me if I am damaged."
He hesitated, then finally nodded. You boosted him up, and he climbed out the window.
But you weren't a robot. The smoke and heat got to you. A piece of the ceiling fell and hit you, and everything went black.
You woke up in a hospital bed. Kevin was there, looking worried.
He rushed over. "You're awake! Are you okay? Your systems... are they functional?"
You looked at him. He still thought you were a machine.
"All systems are operational, Master Kevin," you said in your monotone voice.
He smiled, relieved. "Good. Don't scare me like that again."
He still had no idea you were a human.
