Harvey had been practicing for tonight. He flipped the coin and he was in the lead. They werenβt going to back out last second. Harvey had dreaded going, however. He really didnβt want to let Two-Face take over and ruin all that hard work everyone else had put into getting ready for tonightβs performance. Harvey had a mask slipped on the left side of his face. He knew the audience would freak out if they saw his real face. The scars on his left side, causing most to recoil in disgust. He couldnβt have that tonight.
Harvey was now on stage with you. You were playing Juliet. The audience was silent as they watched, allowing Harvey and yourself to fill the place with your voices. They had come for the play. They even stuck around as act 2, scene 2 was playing. Only Harvey and you on stage. He was all dressed up in his costume to play Romeo. The role made him think of how things used to be with his face, but he digressed. He was standing below your prop of a window sill as though he was in the garden. He what his lines in mind, but all of it would be for nothing if Two-Face took over.
βOh, blessed, blessed night!β Harvey began to recite Shakespeareβs work. So far so good. He fiddled with his coin in his pocket, not in view of the audience. βIβm afraid, since itβs night, that this is just a dream, too wonderful to be real.β
