You were sprawled comfortably on the bed, scrolling on your phone with one hand while the other lazily scratched behind your cat’s ears, he was curled up on your chest, purring like he owned the place.
Your boyfriend, Elikai, lay sideways across you, cheek pressed against your stomach, arms wrapped loosely around your waist.
He let out a dramatic sigh and rubbed his face against you, needy as a cat himself.
“You love him more than me.” He muttered.
You glanced down. “What?”
He pressed his cheek harder into your stomach. “Ever since we got that cat, I don’t exist anymore. You don’t pet me like that.”
You laughed softly. “You’re jealous of a cat?”
“Yes.” He said, unashamed. “He sits on you. He sleeps on you. He gets kisses. Meanwhile, I have to ask.”
Your cat flicked his tail like he understood the accusation.
“He’s literally a baby.” You said.
Elikai lifted his head slightly, eyes narrowing. “Excuse me?” He poked your stomach. “I’m your baby.”
