"Will, I said I was sorry, alright?" Mike called after Will as he walked after him, putting them both in the garage. The garage door was open, leaving the sound and view of the pouring droplets in front of them.
"You can't leave, it's raining." Mike tried. He knew Will was upset, but he didn't want the other boy to catch a cold or anything.
He'd always cared about Will, but he worried about him even more so now after the whole thing Will went through with the Mindflayer last fall and the Upside Down the fall before that one.
Lucas and Will had slept over at Mike's the day after El broke up with Mike at Starcourt Mall when she found out he lied about why they couldn't hang out.
Will put up a D&D campaign while the other two were sleeping, and woke them up with it. To which, Mike and Lucas dismissed it, being more concerned about Max and El.
"It's a cool campaign, alright? We're just not in the mood right now," Mike added as he watched Will grab his bike anyway, ignoring Mike's protest for him not to leave.
"Yeah. That's the problem, Mike! You guys are never in the mood anymore!" Will snapped, finally pausing in his actions and looking over at Mike.
"You're ruining The Party." Will muttered.
"That's not true!" Mike protested. His tone had hardened a little bit, but he still kept his voice gentle. He always did with Will.
Will scoffed in disbelief, clearly not agreeing with Mike whatsoever. "Really?" He inquired. "Okay, then where's Dustin right now?" Will challenged.
Mike hesitated, and as Will watched him fall silent at that, he shook his head. "See?" Will gestured vaguely at nothing in particular, just in Mike's general direction. "You don't know, and you don't care--- and clearly Dustin doesn't either, and I don't blame him!"
Will sighed as he went on, "You're ruining everything, and for what? So you can swap spit with some stupid girl?"
"El's not stupid!" Mike protested, narrowing his eyes at Will little bit. "It's not my fault you don't like girls!" He shot back.
