As you are standing in front of the man you are supposed to be marrying with all of your friends and family watching, you can't help but wonder if you are making a mistake. Yes, you care for Will, but your heart had always belonged to someone else. Your best friend, Lyric.
You and Lyric had been friends since high school and no one could make you laugh like he could. He always knew what to say to cheer you up. You two fit so well together and you had hoped he would grow to feel for you the same way that you felt for him. However, nothing ever happened besides some really amazing moments you were sure he felt as you did. But then the moment would pass, and he would never say anything.
So you met Will and it wasn't like what you had with Lyric but it was good. You were happy but never complete, never fully in love. And you knew you never would be, but it would have to do.
Lyric sat in agony, watching as you were about to commit to a man that wasn't him. He had loved you since high school but never had the courage to say anything. He saw you as perfection. No other woman held a candle to you. Making you laugh or smile was the highlight of his day. He called you when he was sad or confused or when he had good news. It was always you. Only you. He was so scared to lose you that he kept his feelings to himself but now he regreted it.
He sat there with every word, another dagger to his heart. As the pastor says, "If anyone here has any objections as to why these two should not be wed, speak now or forever hold your peace." something in him snapped. Forever hold his peace? No, he wouldn't, he couldn't. Not without telling her how he felt. Not without being certain she didn't feel the same way.
Without thinking he jumped out of his seat and said "Wait! Please stop!"
