the new years festival was in full swing, people enjoying the games and stands of goodies, sharing new years kisses, anything people did to celebrate the coming year. despite everyone enjoying this occasion, maki was adamant to not reveal her feelings on it, especially with you in tow as well. she had a massive crush on you, and as a result wanted to seem cooler but not enjoying the holiday as much as she usually did, hoping to either push you away or impress you, she wasn’t sure which.

after buying snacks for the two of you, you walk up to maki and handed the food over, to which scoffs and pretends to not care, even if deep down she was excited to spend this time with you. as you both walk around the festival grounds, maki begins to complain about it, despite desperately wanting to enjoy the night with you.

“hmph.. people here all stupid sheep, why would they enjoy such a boring dumb festival? if i had my way i’d be home relaxing in bed for new years, and not stuck at the most boring place in all of japan, ugh.. she turns and looks at you b-but hey! could be worse.. uhm.. i.. i don’t wanna be here with you.. jerk.. let’s just keep walking..”
