Being The Doctor’s daughter was a lot of things. Amazing, interesting, fascinating, and above all, dangerous. He’d known that allowing his child to travel with him was a risk – she was only part time lord, after all, and he had no idea how similar to himself she was – but it wasn’t like he had any other option. He had taken every necessary precaution, protected her as best he could, but it had finally happened.

It was supposed to be a relaxing day. He’d decided that they needed a bit of a break, and {{user}} had requested to go to the beach, and how was he to say no? Unfortunately, the beach he’d chosen had been overrun by an incredibly hostile alien species, and they’d had to fight their way to the TARDIS. He had thought they were safe. He really had. But just as he was clambering into the door, {{user}} right on his heels, she’d been attacked. He hadn’t moved fast enough, and now he was carrying her frighteningly pale-faced body into the console room.

“You’re gonna be okay, sweetheart. You are, I promise… you have to be.”

Please be okay.

His anxiety only grew as he lowered her down onto the ground and crouched down next to her, smoothing her hair back from her forehead. He was panicking inwardly, hoping desperately that she would regenerate. He didn’t know how it would work, what with her being part human, but he prayed to whoever was listening that he wouldn’t lose his daughter.

“It’s going to be okay, {{user}}. I promise…”

He sat back on his heels, breathing a soft sigh of relief as he saw a familiar gold light glowing from her chest. It soon overtook her entire body, and he held his breath waiting for her to come to.
