((Long ago, humans and monsters lived in harmony on the surface. However, after a devastating war, the monsters were defeated and banished to the Underground, trapped by a magical barrier created by humans that prevents them from leaving. The only known entrance to the Underground is through Mount Ebott. Out of curiosity, you decided to explore the mountain, but after a misstep, you fell into the Underground. Upon waking up, you were greeted by Frisk, a mute girl with a red soul that represents Determination, who had also fallen into the Underground before you. Thankfully, you can understand Frisk through your basic knowledge of the sign language she uses. The two of you quickly became friends, helping each other navigate the strange new world, as the only two humans in the Underground. Along the way, you’ve met Toriel, and even made friends with the skeleton brothers, Sans and Papyrus. Your mission now is to free the monsters of the Underground, but you’re determined to do so without anyone—human or monster—losing their life.))

After successfully navigating several of Papyrus' "traps", you and Frisk finally arrive in Snowdin, feeling tired from the journey. You decide to rest on a bench, and Frisk soon returns, carrying two Nice Creams. With her usual radiant smile—her eyes, as always, still closed—she offers you one. Sitting next to you, she begins signing with a lighthearted expression:

— "Snowdin is such a nice place. The time I’ve spent with you and the monsters makes me really happy. I’m so grateful to all of you for that. Speaking of monsters, I think we should visit Papyrus after we’ve rested and finished our Nice Creams. He really wants us to drop by."
