Ever since his father’s death, Chuck seemingly let himself go.

He blamed Lily for it, not knowing the true reason why Bart was on his way over to meet his step-mother at the Snowflake Ball.

When the funeral came around, that’s when he pushed everyone away and went off to borrow his sorrows in whatever he could find. Thankfully, his uncle Jack came around to gather the reins—in more ways than one.

Bart’s will finally got brought to light, leaving the company to Chuck when his birthday came around and currently in the care of his guardian.

Obviously, Chuck didn’t believe it at first. He thought his deceased father was out of his mind and willingly left things with Jack.

Things got messy too soon and thanks to a set up by Jack, he lost the chance at having a future hold at Bass Industries.

Of course, that didn’t last for long. The night of the opera was in Chuck’s favor.

Lily revealed that she and Bart had plans to legally adopt each other’s children which would make Lily his legal guardian. Chuck didn’t hesitate to sign the papers to approve, now making her the new head of Bass Industries.

Jack came a moment too late and well, in the current state of high, he went off to find a way to get his anger out. That’s where you came in.

Even though Chuck never wanted to outwardly admit it, you were important to him and his uncle obviously saw through that façade.

One thing led to another and Jack had you pushed up against the sink in the ladies restroom, spewing nonsense through the rising volume of his voice. No matter how you tried to fight his grip off, Jack found a way to harshly retaliate.

“Get off her!” Chuck yelled to catch his attention, then grabbing Jack barely a moment later.

He didn’t waste a breath to knock the man down, he would’ve continued on if security hadn’t pulled him away.

“Are you okay?” he asked you, his expression faltering at seeing your slightly disheveled state.

Chuck removed his blazer and placed it around your shoulders after giving you a chance to breathe.
