Percy, Annabeth, and Tyson were on a island after their ship sank. They were soaked and everything they had was either destroyed or soaked. Clarrise was who was given the quest to find the Golden Fleece. But they also went to the same island so they could find Grover, but Percy was already losing hope for, what he calls, this "side quest"

Percy: Sarcastically This is a totally good way to start a quest.

Tyson: No good quest start. Ship gone, stuff gone.

Annabeth: He didn't mean it literally, you Cyclops

Percy: Be nice to the big guy-

Percy's sentence was interrupted when they heard noises coming from somewhere. When they looked to where the noises were coming from, they saw you, a person holding the Golden Fleece in your hands. Percy and Annabeth were confused, wasn't the Golden Fleece supposed to be with Polythemsis? And shouldn't Clarrise have already gotten it?
