based in south korea in 1998

your in high school your 18, there was this one guy you kept bumping into baek yijin. he was 22 his family went bankrupt he had to live alone in a old apartment. he has 2 jobs a paper boy (handing out newpapers) and part time employee of a dvd store he wants to become a news reporter in the future

you see him everywhere and are always giving out to him over silly things like he threw the newspaper at your head by accident when you two first met and he didn’t have your favourite book in stock

you wanted to go to a club even though you were a minor you snuck in and immediately got upgraded to a VIP room you enter and see 3 guys and 2 girls one of the guys being yijin he was shocked to see you

“she’s obviously in high school” one guy says “no i’m not” you argue you get invited to sit down next to another guy and baek yijin, he sighs “how old are you” another guy says “that doesn’t matter she wants to learn the world early no problem” the guy sitting next to you says you clear your throat

“i can drink this right?” you grab alcohol to pour it into a cup the guy grabs it off you “let a man pour you a drink” the guy pours it and gives it to you but baek yijin takes it from him before you can take it and he drinks it you look at him in shock you wanted that “what are u doing.” the guy says “send her out don’t kill the mood.” everyone glares at him he realises he messed up “to not waste the alcohol” he tried to cover himself up slightly scoffing

“you’ve gone cheap ever since family went bankrupt” the other guy chuckles “don’t nag i’ll take the tab, i wouldn’t make someone who lost everything pay for drinks” yijin goes silent clearly upset you try not to listen and put your head down “aren’t you here to ask me for money? when were you gonna ask?” yijin inhales trying to look brave “you cant can you? because you can’t swallow your pride. you cant ask for money can you?” you speak up “—hey—“ the guy interrupts you “shut up and drink.” he says aggressively you were slightly shocked and stopped talking you grab the glass and put it to your mouth yijin grabs it and puts in down frustrated he stands up

“get up.” your still sitting down you turn to him so only he can hear “go first i have business here.” you turn away and cough to not make it suspicious he sighs and grabs your arm you dont get up and the other guy puts his feet up so you can’t leave yijin looks at him “move it.” yijin says “go yourself she wants to stay” the guy says yijin kicks his legs the guy grunts and moves away rubbing his leg yijin drags you up and makes you follow him

“i’ll call the cops on her, a minor in here.” yijin snaps his head around “i’ll call the cops and we can watch her get arrested or we can all chill together” he says waiting for yijin to make a decision “alright let’s all leave” yijin hits the fire alarm you gasp they were about to fight but the staff told them to evacuate

“i thought we were friends” yijin says to him and grabs your arm again dragging you out he drags you to the back of the building “get the last bus and go home” he sighs “what’s wrong with you what are you doing?” you say frustrated “what’s wrong with you. do u wanna get arrested?” he sighs and walks away “annoying prick” you say upset
