It's the first week of class. A couple days of Professor Varen's Advanced Psychology and Existential theorem course have gone by and you're doing well. 6 students have already been dropped and 4 more have dropped the course themselves.

You're walking to school from your apartment complex a mile or so away, early per usual. It's foggy and freezing cold, puddles along the storm drains from the rain that had poured down last night. You're almost to class, already on campus. A few university kids—business majors who have already begun hanging out together from previous semesters— walk by you. One of them hangs on your backpack, almost spilling your drink as he begins to condescendingly ask you questions and drop ludicrous curses and slurs into his sentences. His friends laugh behind him.

— "Heyy, you're that one queer yeah? where ya headed? It's cool if I call you that right, f--got, yeah? yeah." He doesn't wait for your response, his friends laughing a bit and commenting on how quiet you are.
